We have been reporting about how the smartphone industry next year will be all about 5G technology as well as iterative design. It is also worth noting that the first flagship phones next year will be the Samsung Galaxy S series ones. However, we are now getting reports that OnePlus also plans to launch its flagship series sooner next year. This is because of the fact that its OnePlus 7T series was launched earlier this year. This means that the half-yearly cycle of OnePlus product launch is ending in March and that might be the time when OnePlus launches its OnePlus 8 series.

Talking about the OnePlus 8 series, we are also getting reports that the company might release three new smartphones next year. This year, we saw OnePlus launch the OnePlus 7 Pro along with the OnePlus 7 in its OnePlus 7 series. Next year, OnePlus is expected to have a OnePlus 8 Lite alongside the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. As the name suggests, OnePlus 8 Lite will be priced lower than both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro and it will come with somewhat lower specifications.

If we talk about specifications, OnePlus 8 series is now leaked in full if a new report is to be believed. As far as the OnePlus 8 Lite is concerned, it will have 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256 internal storage options while having a 90Hz display and dual or triple rear cameras at the back. The only difference will be that the processor on OnePlus 8 Lite will be a MediaTek Dimensity 100 which is equipped with 5G support.

Moving forward, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with 5G modem and Quad HD display while a 120Hz display is also rumoured. It is also worth noting that the OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to touch the $1000 mark since it will have 5G support which is expected to cost more for the time being.
